LINCOLN SQUARE, WILMINGTON DE

Type: Historic Redevelopment/Adaptive Reuse

Description: Mixed Use:  Office Over Ground-Floor Retail

Overview: The 300 Block of Market St. was originally developed in the 1800's as a collection of individual townhouse buildings. By the end of the 19th century the property had been converted to retail space and was anchored by the Lippincott & Co department store, which became a Wilmington staple for many years.

Fully renovated in 2008, the block now consists of ten contiguous buildings containing ground floor retail, upper floor office space and generous basement storage. It has been renamed "Lincoln Square" in honor of Abraham Lincoln's historic speech given from a balcony of the property on June 10, 1848.

The redevelopment scope includes significant improvements such as new mechanical systems, modernized floor plans, historically restored architecture, extensive structural enhancements and a grand entry lobby with multiple hydraulic elevators.
